***Our next cycle begins January 15, 2025. The admissions window for this class is August 12, 2024-December 31, 2024. Applications received after December 31st must include the medical packet.***
Alaskan youth ages *16-18, or if *15 you will turn 16 prior to AMYA graduation date. A youth may turn 19 during the cycle, but must be age 18 on the start date.
Need assistance with their high school education or any other AMYA Core Component
Citizen/Legal Resident of the United States, residing in Alaska; if under 18 have guardian in state
Physically/Mentally capable of completing a demanding program
Free of legal entanglements (no felony offenses or adjudications/no court)
VOLUNTEER - youth must have some desire to attend

The interview is scheduled after the Initial Application Packet is completed. After December 31st, you must also submit the medical packet to receive an interview. The confidential interview is conducted with the applicant and Admissions staff. The interview is conducted in person when geographically feasible. Interviews may also be completed via telephone or videoconferencing. An interview is REQUIRED.
Acceptance is determined following the interview. Should a youth be accepted, they will be provided a Conditional Acceptance Letter and must complete and submit the Medical Packet in order to attend. All acceptances are CONDITIONAL, should a youth not submit the medical packet or no longer meet the qualifications to attend their acceptance letter will be VOID. This may include change in legal status, medical changes, injuries, etc. The Conditional Acceptance letter will also contain information on when to report, information to obtain flights* (if outside reasonable driving distance/off road system), and the Packing List. *AMYA pays for the cost of the accepted youth's flight only. NO FLIGHTS will be made until the medical packet has been submitted.
**AFTER December 31st, the Medical Packet must be submitted to receive an interview.**

*Failure to submit the Medical Packet will result in youth being unable to attend.* In some instances, information in the medical packet may prevent the youth from attending. AMYA will provide flight transportation at NO COST to the family for the accepted youth to Anchorage for those outside reasonable driving distance and/or off the road system (NO flights will be made until the Medical Packet has been received). Families may opt to report directly to Anchorage at their own expense. Once the cycle starts the primary contact will be the platoon leader or Team Leaders Center (TLC) 428-7325.
